CAL SAILING TEAM

The California Golden Bears Sailing Team is a student-run, competitive racing team from the University of California at Berkeley. Founded in 1922, the team has competed on the west coast for over a century.

The team competes in the PCCSC (Pacific Coast College Sailing Conference) which includes regattas throughout the San Francisco Bay and on the waters of Southern California and Hawaii. During the school year, we compete in regattas most weekends and travel nationally for select events.

We are continually looking to expand our team’s skills and continue the Corinthian spirit at Cal!

Where We Sail

Our fleet of fifteen FJs is located at Richmond Yacht Club, where we practice three days a week. Richmond Yacht Club sits in the San Francisco Bay where we experience minimal waves and good winds typically out of the west, only twenty minutes from campus by car, Richmond Yacht Club is an incredible sailing facility in a protected bay with minimal waves.
